01 / Websites with purpose

Your mission deserves a clear introduction.

We design and develop websites for mission-driven organizations, connecting clear content, a distinctive identity, and useful visitor journeys in one considered experience.

THE JOB TO BE DONE

A useful website starts with the person using it.

Someone arrives with a question: Can you help me? What does your organization do? How can I take part? A good website makes those answers easier to find, whether the visitor is a community member, a prospective partner, a volunteer, or a funder.

We look at the whole experience, from the search result and first impression to the page where someone finds a resource or gets in touch. The aim is a website your audience can understand and your organization can continue to own.

WORKING AS ONE TEAM

Your vision. A shared direction.

Your website should sound like you and reflect what you are building toward. We spend time understanding your brand, your audience, and the people closest to the work, so the direction grows from a shared understanding of your voice and vision.

We work as an extension of your team throughout the project. You see the ideas taking shape, discuss the choices behind them, and help refine the details. Regular conversations and thoughtful reviews keep your knowledge of the organization at the heart of the finished website.

WHAT WE PLAN & BUILD

Considered from
every angle.

Every engagement has its own scope. These are the foundations we plan around.

01

Audience, content & structure

We identify the people the website needs to serve, the tasks they need to complete, and the content that supports those tasks. A practical sitemap, page outlines, and clear navigation give the project a shared structure before visual design begins. Existing material is reviewed for gaps, duplication, and ownership.

02

A distinctive visual system

Typography, layout, imagery, and interaction work together to express your organization’s identity. We design representative pages and reusable patterns, including mobile layouts, so the site feels coherent as it grows. Motion has a defined purpose and an alternative for visitors who prefer less movement.

03

Responsive website development

Keyboard access, clearly labeled controls, and layouts that adapt to different screens are part of the build. We organize content clearly, handle images with care, and review real pages and interactions with you as the website takes shape.

04

Search & publishing foundations

Each important service receives a useful destination, a clear heading, and relevant metadata. Internal links connect related work, services, and articles. We plan canonical URLs, indexing, and the sitemap around the approved domain, and give journal content an editorial structure that supports continued publishing without creating thin, repetitive pages.

FROM DISCOVERY TO DELIVERY

A clear way
through the work.

  1. 01

Understand the job of the site

We review the current experience, discuss your audiences, and agree on the most important visitor journeys. Together we define the launch scope, content responsibilities, and practical constraints. This is also the time to decide what can be improved now and what belongs in a later phase.

  2. 02

Design, build & review in context

The structure becomes a visual direction and then a working website. Reviews focus on real pages, representative content, and the actions people need to take. We refine the experience across screen sizes and check the interactions, content relationships, and technical behavior as the work develops.

  3. 03

    Prepare for launch & ownership

Before release, we review navigation, metadata, contact paths, error pages, and deployment behavior. Content and client materials need an agreed review owner. Handover records how the website is organized, how changes are made, and who is responsible for hosting, domain settings, and future maintenance.

BUILT FOR ONGOING OWNERSHIP

Clarity that lasts
beyond launch.

  • A reusable page and component system
  • A documented content and publishing structure
  • Source code and build instructions
  • An agreed launch and maintenance plan
BOUNDARIES AGREED EARLY

A public website and a private operational system have different responsibilities. We decide early which information is appropriate to publish and whether any forms, accounts, integrations, or internal workflows need a separate scope. A simpler public experience is often the right foundation for a more involved system later.

A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before we begin.

Can you work with an existing website or identity?

Yes. We can begin by reviewing the platform, content, brand assets, and maintenance arrangements already in place. The recommendation may be a focused improvement, a new set of page templates, or a rebuild. We establish what is worth keeping before deciding what needs to change.

Will the website include a way to publish articles?

We can include a journal or news section, with a clear structure for topics, article pages, and related content. The editing approach is selected around the people who will maintain it. Source-controlled content may suit one team; an editorial interface may be appropriate for another. The decision is part of the scope.

What do you need from our team?

A clear review owner, access to approved content and brand materials, and time with the people who understand your audiences. We help identify missing material and make content decisions concrete. Launch dates and deliverables are agreed after the requirements, dependencies, and review process are understood.

A USEFUL PLACE TO BEGIN

The questions
before the build.

  1. Who needs to use your site, and what do they need to do?
  2. Which content is current, and who will own it?
  3. What does a successful next step look like for your visitors?
